Agricultural Chemical Usage - Sheep and Sheep Facilities

National Agricultural Statistics Service NASS

This is an archive and email subscription service for reports issued by NASS. The official website is www.nass.usda.gov with other data services.

This release includes information on insecticides applied to sheep and sheep facilities. Insecticides are applied to sheep and sheep facilities to control mange/mites, lice, flies, and other pests.

The 22 major sheep producing States, accounting for over 80 percent of total U.S. sheep inventory, are included in this release. Please note the change in program scope from 2000 to 2010; the 2001 release included all sheep and sheep facilities, the 2011 chemical use data release excluded feedlots and operations with less than 20 ewes.

Beginning in May 2010, NASS agricultural chemical use data are published to the Quick Stats 2.0 database only (full-text publications have been discontinued).
