BL_LS754 Billings, MT Mon May 13, 2013 USDA Market News Montana Weekly Cattle Auction Summary Receipts: 3,972 Last Week: 8,181 Last Year: 3,510 Compared to last week: Stocker and Feeder steers sold steady to 4.00 lower on limited comparable sales. Stocker and Feeder heifers sold steady to 4.00 higher on limited comparable sales. Feeding cows sold steady to 3.00 lower. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 2.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold mostly steady. Demand moderate to good with increased demand on light weight stocker heifers. Approximately, 31 percent stocker and feeder; 10 percent feeding cows; 2 percent cow/calf pairs; 51 percent slaughter cows with the balance slaughter bulls and misc. cattle. In the feeder supply, steers made up 56 percent of the run; heifers 44 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled 38 percent. All bred stock sold by the head and pairs sold per pair, unless otherwise stated. All bred cows represented to calve before May 15th, unless otherwise stated.
