MD_DA560 DA MD DA560 Dry Whey - Northeast MADISON, WI. May 23, 2013 (REPORT 21) DRY WHEY - NORTHEAST Dry whey prices marginally declined again this week in the face of production increases going into the holiday weekend. Triggering dry whey production expansion is the increased supply of manufacturing milk going to cheese plants. Current production is adding to most manufacturers' inventories. Domestic demand remains sluggish as most buyers are purchasing for immediate needs only, preferring to have a clearer picture of market, prior to expanding inventories. Most sellers are comfortable with their inventory levels, believing demand will increase following the Memorial Day holiday. Some manufacturers have been able to manage their inventories via large volume export sales. Spot sale and resale prices are under current contract levels, giving the market a weak undertone. F.O.B.
