St. Joseph, Stockyards Sheep and Goat Auction Report for 06/13/2013

Receipts:  1687    Last Month:  1335   Last Year:  1396

   Compared to last month, slaughter lambs and feeder lambs traded 15.00-25.00 
lower than last month with slaughter ewes selling steady to 5.00 higher.  Market 
kid goats sold steady to 10.00 lower when compared to last month with nannies 
mostly steady.  Supply included near 55 percent sheep and 45 percent goats.  The 
sheep supply included near 50 percent slaughter lambs, 15 percent feeder lambs, 
and near 30 percent slaughter ewes, and the balance slaughter bucks and 
replacement ewes.  Prices quoted per cwt unless otherwise noted.  Note:  The 
Sheep and Goat Auction is held the 2nd Thursday of each Month, start time is at 
4:00 p.m.

SHEEP-

   Slaughter Lambs:  Choice, few Prime 2-3 few 106-132 lbs 107.00-116.00; Non-
Traditional weights 55-70 lbs 93.00-105.00; 65-95 lbs 80.00-90.00; pkg old crop 
85 lbs 77.00, lot yearlings 123 lbs 83.00, pkg yearlings 153 lbs 71.00.
  
   Feeder Lambs:  Medium and Large 1  37-88 lbs 85.00-95.00, pkg 23 lbs 125.00.  

   Slaughter Ewes:  Utility and Good 1-2  105-175 lbs 33.00-41.00, lot young 80 
lbs 49.50.  Utility 1-2  120-235 lbs 25.00-31.00, pkg 20.00. 

   Replacement Ewes: Pkg 128 lbs 47.50 per head.

   Slaughter Bucks: Indiv 225 lbs 29.00.
