Some growers are holding their remaining pecans in storage, opting to wait for higher price offerings before making any marketing decisions for sales. Most businesses have cut back hours for accepting pecans brought in for sale at the door, while some have closed or are doing business by appointment only. Prices paid to growers (late afternoon Thursday, January 17, 2013 thru late afternoon Tuesday, January 22, 2013) at buyers delivery point or f.o.b. the orchard including direct sales to end users, cents per pound in-shell of generally good quality pecans in lots of 20,000 pounds or less unless otherwise stated.
